Built by the company's founding directors - Graham Calvert and sons Matthew and David - Wedgelock extends the family's involvement in engineering dating back some 140 years.
Today, Wedgelock is New Zealand's leading supplier of attachments for the civil earthworks, general contracting and forestry industries and its products are exported all over the globe, including Europe, Russia, Far East, Pacific Islands and South America. Wedgelock has partner relationships in Australia, the United Kingdom, United States, Mexico, Czech Republic, France, Norway, China and Japan.

Wedgelock is headquartered in Upper Hutt, New Zealand - not far from the nation's capital city of Wellington at the southern tip of the North Island. In 2006, Wedgelock established a US subsidiary, Wedgelock Equipment Incorporated. In January 2010, Wedgelock Equipment Incorporated entered into a JV partnership under the banner Norco Attachments LLC. This offers the North American territories local manufacturing and distribution to meet customer requirements on a 'just-in-time' basis.
